Centralized Display Control Platform

Built an in-house platform to run every TV in the SMART Centre from one dashboard. It schedules dashboards, videos, and images across displays, turns the TVs on and off over CEC and RS232 to save energy, and adds a one-tap screen-share overlay with a QR code that switches the TV to a guest's screen and back automatically. A two-person research assistant team built it at zero cost to the centre.

AR Fire Extinguisher Training Props

Led a two-person student team to standardize Catapult Tactical XR's instrumented fire extinguisher prototype so it fit multiple extinguisher models, delivering production-ready drawings and prototypes with the original trigger and pin kept intact for a realistic feel.

Conference Activation

ABB YuMi Coffee Robot

Designed and shipped a cobot-driven coffee demo for CAMDT's conference booth. An ABB YuMi served coffee live using an Ignition HMI on tablet, a custom 3D printed cup dispenser, and a Nespresso pour station. The activation turned a quiet booth into the busiest one on the floor and drove a measurable lift in project conversations.

Industrial Automation

Automated Transformer Lamination Stacking

Led a three-person student team to design and deploy a robotic stacking cell for transformer steel laminations at Rex Power Magnetics. A custom magnetic gripper with cushioning and spreader components positioned laminations vertically, rotated them horizontally, and transferred them to a conveyor, turning an inconsistent and hazardous manual process into a repeatable automated workflow.

Crisis Manufacturing

PPE Manufacturing Response

Led production of three distinct PPE products during the COVID-19 pandemic at Sheridan's CAMDT lab: 3D printed face shields, foldable PETG sheet shields, and acrylic point-of-sale barriers for frontline retail. Redesigned products mid-run to navigate supply chain bottlenecks. Recognized with the Ontario Minister's Award for Excellence.

2019

Skills Competition Engineering

WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Test Projects

Designed the Industrial Mechanical Millwright and Polymechanics test projects for WorldSkills Kazan 2019. Produced the full competitor drawing packages, prototyped each assembly in Sheridan's lab, and validated fit and function before the projects shipped to Russia for the international competition. Recognized with a WorldSkills Medal of Appreciation for contributions to the global skills movement.
